Modern Warfare 2: Nightvision Goggles Given With Collectors Edition

i have always been a avid video gamer, ever since age 3 when i was bought a nintendo (nes) by my father and began it all with the classic duck hunt. Born in 1985, thats a legimitate start in my eyes. Either way i have owned the various systems throughout the years jumping back and forth between sony and microsoft products. Starting with just those few buttons and a dpad to the ugly original oversized xbox controller to wireless 360 controllers has been amazingly progressive throughout the years seperating some gamers from the entire “gaming world”. Most adults are so amazed or just confused by all the buttons on the 360 that they have just given up all together. But with one of the most amazing game releases dropping in November. Infinity Ward has done something absolutely unheard of. They are charging 150$ for a video game. Why you ask would they do something so crazy when if you were to purchase 2 you could actually buy a entire xbox 360 console for the same price. Either way the reasoning behind this amazing price is the fact that you get a set of Nightvision Goggles that say they have a range of up to 50 feet in pitch dark settings. This is absolutely amazing.

But lets take a step back for a second and see what some dumb asshole is ranting about these nvg’s and the quality of the product.

I would say 99.9999 percent of gamers who buy the Prestige edition will have a blast with these new goggles, innocently playing around at night with them.

Yet, it is also like giving away a free race car with Gran Tourismo or Forza – someone is going to cause a highway wreck. In Modern Warfare 2’s case, I shudder (just a bit) to think of someone, who may have a hard time with reality anyway, donning these goggles for real mischief or even worse.

Infinity Ward should know better. They are great at fake realism. One of the best. This maybe be crossing that line, however.”

I really couldnt stop laughing after i read this. After checking out a few pairs of night vision goggles on amazon.com i realized that for the most part a really good pair of night vision goggles can cost anywhere from 500 to 1000’s  of dollars. Most kids would be saving their allowances til they were legally able to get a job before able to buy goggles. Lets not forget about the obvious fact: you can buy them anytime at many different stores or online sites.

- kitchen knives may enable a stabbing murder.

- a ladder might cause someone to fall and break their neck.

- a flashlight might cause someone to shine it in a bicyclist’s eyes at night and cause him to crash (happened to me).

- a sledgehammer that might be used to smash a puppy or a child’s skull.

- wire clothes hangers that may be used to perform unsafe abortions.

- a hunting rifle that may be used to kill people.

- sugar that could be used to destroy a car engine.

Do we ban all of these things?”

QUALITY OF PRODUCT:

Unfortunately for me i will be buying this 150$ priced game without any hesitation. I love call of duty and infinity ward and dont care if they end up sitting on a shelf placed on the mannakin head that they will be providing. I am almost positive they will be very cheap and just turning your lights off and sitting in the dark for a while would probably essentially create the same effect as these overpriced goggles that come with a video game would provide.

A publicity stunt by infinity ward you may ask yourselve. highly doubtful seeing the fact that they could sell salt to a slug, not to mention most stores have been taking reserves on this game a good 8 months before it will be released. Alot have already announced they will be doing midnight releases as well.

George Carlin – God Bless America Video

hey, its getting close to the 4th of July, a great time of year that i like to take the excuse to shoot off illegal fireworks, always a good time. Either way i stumbled upon a hilarious video of george carlin on a rant about god and america and everything in between. It really just is amazing how strict people will take things and the chaos that could be caused by failure to remove a hat during the national anthem. So if possible this 4th of july, try not to make the remark of “god bless america”. unless of course you think your smart enough to defend it, very doubtful i might add.

City Life

I must say that i love just being able to hang out in any city, i guess its the silent sociologist in me speaking out, saying just sit and watch “the hustle and bustle” of a city. Watch the expressions on people’s faces as they walk hurried down the narrow sidewalk, busses and cars whiz by, your occassional siren and squad cars go racing up and down the street.Some look determined, some look dazed or confused,some try to show that they think they are important even though they are probably not and then some are just flat out intoxicated. Either way just watching the every day going of your average suit, or bum can be a very entertaining way to spend a day. Even though it sounds lame, it can be amazing what your able to take away from watching people and the interactions they have.

the story behind this is as usual our government has declared that a country that will allow pot to be legalized will be infested with criminals. i guess you could label this as a fail by the us. government. I love the comparison he does below with California. check out www.letuspaytaxes.com and their idea behind creating a guaranteed minimum of 1 billion dollars a year in tax revenue by selling and taxing marijuana in California only. its pretty funny you don’t hear about that idea in the news.

The Dutch government is getting ready to close eight prisons because they don’t have enough criminals to fill them. Officials attribute the shortage of prisoners to a declining crime rate.

Just for fun, let’s compare the Netherlands to California. With a population of 16.6 million, the Dutch prison population is about 12,000. With its population of 36.7 million, California should have a bit more than double the Dutch prison population. California’s actual prison population is 171,000.

So, whose drug policies are keeping the streets safer?

Well, this is one step in the ever growing debate between xbox360 users and ps3 and its a definite win for xbox 360 fans everywhere. The lonely ps2 which i may be wrong but i dont believe they even create games soley based for the ps2 anymore has now beat out the ps3 in sales.
